Together for Children
The Social Work Foundation is one of the ten founding members of the “Together for the Child” Association, founded in 1996, composed of organizations serving children in need. The aim of the association is to combine our efforts to more effectively help the more than 10,000 children served each year, offering psychological, moral and financial support, as well as providing information to the public about children’s issues.
As one of the thirteen founding members, the Social Work Foundations sits via it's Vice President at the Board of Directors of the nationwide Network of Service Providers for People with Disabilities, known as “The Network” or "The Net". The Net was established in 2020 and aims to support people with disabilities across their lifespan.
We participate in the Network of Non-Governmental Organizations which monitor the implementation of the International Convention on the Rights of the Children, established in 2009 by the Greek Children Ombudsman. The aim of the network is the protection and promotion of children’s rights in our country and, in particular, the monitoring of the implementation of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (ICC) in Greece.
Foundation Against Hunger (Food Bank Greece)
We collaborate with the Foundation Against Hunger (Food Bank Greece) and operate a “Food Bank” at the Rehabilitation Center for our service users (families). On a weekly basis we provide fresh, frozen and dry goods of all kinds. The food is distributed to the homes of our beneficiaries by our own means, free of charge.
Network for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect
We participate in the informal National Network for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect, an initiative of the Institute of Child Health.
Hellenic Anti Poverty Network (EAPN Greece)
We participate in the Hellenic Anti Poverty Network (EAPN Greece) which was a founding member of the European Network one. This Network was established in 1990 and took legal form in 1996. Today it includes twenty five (25) non-governmental and / or volunteer organisations.
