The Social Work Foundation aims to design, develop and provide model services to address social problems in vulnerable groups. Its aims include empowering individuals and families, social groups and communities, in order to improve their quality of life and ensure a decent standard of living.
In particular, the Social Work Foundation has developed a model program for children with cerebral palsy and similar conditions at the “Hadjipaterion” Rehabilitation and Support Center. The program aims to provide a holistic approach of the needs of the children, with a focus on the development of their skills in order to achieve the best possible integration into the familiar, educational and social environment. Equally, the aim of the intervention is to support the family and its participation in the rehabilitation program of the child from infancy onward, with emphasis on early intervention.
The study, research and scientific documentation are important aspects of the Social Work Foundation. It aims to remain up to date with the latest scientific developments in the field of medicine, rehabilitation and social integration of individuals with cerebral palsy. To the end, the Foundation focuses on staff training and development in the field of disability, the education of students in the humanitarian professions (social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, speech therapists, physiotherapists, etc) and the development of initiatives to inform and raise community awareness.
